What's most important in dating profiles?

In a poll conducted on DateDaily.com regarding what’s most important when it comes to online dating profiles, readers filled us in on what we really wanted to know.

A whopping 61% of people agree that the picture is, by far, the most important part of a person’s online dating profile.

Second in line, despite a major drop in numbers, is spelling and grammar, with 20% agreeing that it is definitely tops on the reasons to respond to someone. This shocks me because most of the profiles I see on dating sites are filled with spelling and grammatical errors.

Third was the essay, with 10% of people agreeing that the essay is a make-or-break when checking out someone’s profile. So for those of you who can’t be bothered to write one up, you’re missing out on a lot of potential dates.

Someone’s stats were important to 8% of people and only 1% agreed that a username was most important, but all in all, it’s pretty obvious that not only should everyone on dating sites have a picture of themselves.

They also need to make sure they know how to write complete sentences and take the time to write up a thoughtful essay.

Otherwise, all you’re doing is wasting time and money on your dating site of choice.
